15 minutes

If someone would have told me that the 1st 15 minutes home would have resulted in me almost having a nervous break-down and my son yelling at me from the top of the stairs, "And you're the meanest Mom EVER!" I would have just stayed home and asked someone else to pick him up from school instead.

Here's how it all went down, 'case you cared.
I ask the boys if they'd like to help me make Choc. Chip cookies, 'cause I'm cool like that! ;)
They're happy to oblige and jump in with full enthusiasm.
Shortly after we'd gotten started Luci begins crying, wailing actually. Of course.
I shove a strawberry in her mesh teether and hope she'll calm down.
She does. Phew. Back to the boys.

Josh - "Wuss dis Mom?"
Me - "This is the brown sugar."
Jaxon "That's not sugar. This is sugar." (pointing at the white sugar.)
Me - "You're right Jaxon, that is also sugar. It's called white sugar because it's white and this here is brown sugar because it's brown."
Jaxon - "You're wrong. It's not sugar. Can I taste some."
Me - "I'm not wrong. It is sugar and please don't argue with me, son. And no you may not taste it right now. Help me make these cookies and then you can try the cookie dough. Mmmmmmm."
Jaxon - "I'm not arguing I'm jus telling you you're wrong."
Me - "You're arguing right now. Please just stop."
Jaxon - "I'm not arguing wiff you. Can I have a treat?"
Me - "Jaxon, please leave my kitchen. You are still arguing and it's making me mad. You may not have a treat."
Jaxon - (walking out of the kitchen and with a thick attitude) "It's not your kitchen it's our family's kitchen."
Me - (volume increasing) "Jaxon! Get. Out. of the. Kitchen. and Go. To. Your. Room."
Jaxon - "I'm not in the kitchen. I'm in the living room."
Me - "GO TO YOUR ROOM!"

Luci rolls off the couch.
Why did I put her on the COUCH?!
She's crying.
I'm crying.
Jaxon's crying and stomping up the stairs.
He turns and yells, "And you're the meanest Mom EVER!"
I comfort Lu and go back to Joshy and the dough only to find that he was happily helping me by adding the entire bottle of vanilla to the dough.

I'm about ready to have a nervous break-down folks.
Oh and I burned the 1st batch of cookies.
I need another 15 minutes to cool down.

I totally know where you are.
Oh. my.
Seriously. It's one of those days when you wished you could wiggle your nose, the kids would instantly go to sleep, the house would be cleaned and you would be sitting on the couch with your own spoonful of cookie dough watching FRIENDS.

nough said.
Call me.
